Sabert Corporation 2024 Sustainability Report Showcases Innovation-Driven Progress in Sustainable Foodservice Packaging Solutions

SAYREVILLE, NJ, April 30, 2025—Today, Sabert Corporation, a global leader in innovative and sustainable food packaging solutions, released its sixth annual Sustainability Report, highlighting how its diverse product portfolio, innovative advancements, and operational efficiency achievements are contributing to a sustainable food future.

“At Sabert, sustainability is embedded into every aspect of our strategy, guiding our decisions across product development, operations, and innovation," said Paul McCann, CEO of Sabert Corporation. "As a trusted provider of foodservice packaging solutions, we are committed to advancing our sustainability performance while helping our customers meet and exceed their sustainability goals.”

The report featured several significant milestones achieved in 2024. Sabert's Greenville, Texas, facility earned Biodegradable Products Institute (BPI) certification for its Pulp Plus® and Pulp Ultra® molded fiber formulations, establishing the company as a leading North American manufacturer of BPI-certified, domestic molded fiber pulp foodservice packaging. The company also achieved a safety milestone with a Total Case Incident Rate (TCIR) of 0.93, breaking below 1.0, demonstrating its commitment to ensuring a secure and protected working environment.

Innovation remained at the forefront of Sabert’s sustainability efforts, leading to the launch of 333 new products, of which 76% met sustainability criteria as defined by the company. A notable achievement includes commercializing the proprietary r-PRO™ polypropylene blend, which contains 25% post-consumer recycled content from Sabert's Nuvida recycling facility.

“As a one-stop shop, we are powered by diverse capabilities across molded fiber pulp, resin, and paper products. Our "smart from the start" approach considers the environmental impact throughout the packaging's entire value chain—from sustainable inputs and responsible manufacturing to end-of-life circularity. This is more than just about making products; it's about engineering solutions that shape the future of sustainable food packaging," added McCann.

The report also emphasizes Sabert's focus on addressing global food waste challenges, citing the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP)’s finding that 19% of food available to consumers globally was wasted at retail, foodservice, and household levels. By designing food packaging solutions to preserve food, prevent spoilage, and extend shelf life, Sabert is addressing key factors in combating both food waste and its environmental impacts.

"As a sustainability leader with a longstanding commitment to environmental stewardship, we recognize that sustainability is an evolving journey and consumers and our partners are progressing at different stages along the way," shared Richa Desai, Chief Sustainability and Strategy Officer of Sabert. "We're on this journey too, and while we've made significant progress, we continue to learn and adapt, using these insights to invest in infrastructure, research and development, and breakthrough initiatives to get better. Through our diverse capabilities, material science expertise, and commitment to continuous improvement, we meet our customers wherever they are on their sustainability journey, providing expertise and solutions to help advance their goals while working toward a better tomorrow."
