Nuvida Achieves APR PCR Certification for Entire Resin Portfolio, Advancing Circular Economy Goals

SAYREVILLE, NJ., September 10, 2025 – Sabert Corporation's Nuvida, a leading processor and supplier of food-grade and non-food grade recycled plastic resins, announced today that it has received APR PCR Certification for its full range of resins, including EnviroPrime 400 and Advantage 500. This independent, third-party certification confirms that Nuvida’s resins are manufactured from post-consumer recycled (PCR) sources, giving customers confidence as they work to meet recycled content targets and comply with evolving regulations.

The APR PCR Certification program, established by the Association of Plastic Recyclers (APR), is a rigorous, ISO-accredited third-party auditing program that brings transparency to the PCR market and supports the growth of a reliable supply chain for recycled materials.

“At Nuvida, our goal is to transform plastic waste into the highest quality recycled resins, empowering our customers to achieve their sustainability goals,” said Paul McCann, CEO of Sabert Corporation. “By incorporating our recycled resins into their products, brands and companies can meet legislative demands, lower carbon emissions and energy use, and reduce the reliance on virgin plastic. This certification is further proof that through innovation and partnership, we continue to strengthen our commitment to creating a more sustainable future.”

Nuvida’s APR PCR Certification covers its full product line:

  • EnviroPrime 400: 100% PCR food-grade resin containing SCS Global Certified PCR recycled material, with an FDA Letter of No Objection, available in a variety of colors for food packaging, caps and closures, bottles, and film.
  • Advantage 500: 100% PCR non-food grade resin containing SCS Global Certified PCR recycled material, used in home and garden, automotive, containers, and film applications.

Nuvida continues to invest in breakthrough recycling technologies. In 2022, the company developed a technology that recycles post-consumer plastic bottle labels, a waste stream traditionally sent to landfills due to the technical challenges of removing and separating the labels. This innovation was recognized by the Sustainable Packaging Coalition, naming Nuvida a finalist for the 2024 SPC Innovator Awards.

Additionally, Nuvida recently achieved APR Design® for Recyclability Recognition for Sabert’s r-PRO™ Polypropylene resin, a proprietary blend containing 25% post-consumer recycled content, meeting the industry's stringent criteria for recyclable food packaging solutions.
