June 17, 2020 - (Sayreville, NJ) Sabert is pleased to announce that it has become a benefactor for the New Jersey Composting Council (NJCC). As a leader in sustainable and compostable packaging globally Sabert was also elected by the Board to welcome Robert Beagan, Sr. Product Manager, Compostable Packaging to be a trustee.
“Compostable packaging can be a challenge for compost programs but is also a fantastic opportunity for the industry. Studies have shown a properly organized compostable products program can greatly lead to increased capture of organics and food waste ” said NJCC President Jairo Gonzalez. “Recognizing these realities we knew it was vital to begin to educate our members, and the public on best practices and to have someone who will bring their expertise and resources to bear in doing so. We are excited a New Jersey company like Sabert will be joining us in these efforts”
Sabert is honored to join the NJCC Board of Directors. With our corporate headquarters located in central New Jersey, there is a tremendous amount of synergy between our organizations. As a compostable product manufacturer, it is important to work with organizations like the NJCC to help build infrastructure, provide education and hands-on training to grow the organics market here in New Jersey. Coming off NJCC’s Food Waste Recycling win, we believe our partnership will build on the momentum the New Jersey chapter has created and help local municipalities prepare to access the benefits of food waste recycling and composting.
Building off the fantastic recent news out of Trenton, The NJCC looks forward to a busy year. They will host webinars on a wide range of compost and food diversion topics, restrictions permitting the US Composting Council Compost Operators Training Course , the annual Organics Waste Management Summit in October, member meetings, monthly Advocacy and Market Development Committee meetings. With the addition of new members like Sabert this will also serve as an opportunity to expand our educational efforts through the Education Committee and many more educational and networking opportunities geared towards the entire compost industry.
