Sabert Corporation Named a 2026 Texan by Nature 20 Honoree
Recognition highlights the company’s molded fiber operations in Greenville, Texas, and global progress on waste, energy, and water
SAYREVILLE, NJ, October 28, 2026 — Sabert Corporation, a global leader in innovative and sustainable food packaging solutions, has been named a 2026 Texan by Nature 20 (TxN 20) honoree. The annual program from Texan by Nature (TxN), a conservation nonprofit established by former First Lady Laura Bush, recognizes companies operating in Texas for their leadership in conservation and environmental sustainability.
To choose this year’s honorees, TxN researched more than 2,000 public and private companies across 13 industry sectors and scored each one on its stated commitment to conservation, reported results, investment, and measurable impact. A selection committee of industry leaders then reviewed the 94 highest-scoring companies to name the final honorees.
“Our customers want packaging that performs and sustainability results they can stand behind,” said Richa Desai, Chief Sustainability & Strategy Officer at Sabert. “Texan by Nature looks closely at the data behind a company’s commitments, so this recognition reflects years of important work by our teams, including our employees in Greenville who produce our molded fiber pulp food packaging. We’ll keep building on that progress as we work toward our 2030 goal.”
Sabert’s 2025 Sustainability Report highlights progress across the company’s operations. In 2025, Sabert diverted 96% of its waste from landfill, reduced energy intensity 9% from its 2019 baseline, and lowered total water withdrawal 15% from its 2020 baseline.
In Texas, Sabert’s Greenville facility is the company’s first U.S. plant built to exclusively manufacture certified compostable molded fiber pulp packaging. This site produces a range of molded fiber products using Sabert’s proprietary pulp formulations and processes. In 2025, the company expanded the plant’s pulp-coating capabilities by adding capacity for coated molded fiber packaging and localizing production to meet customer needs. Products made with Sabert’s Pulp Plus® and Pulp Ultra® formulations are certified compostable by the Biodegradable Products Institute (BPI) for commercial composting facilities and passed the WMU Repulpability and Recyclability Test report.
Sabert has committed that by 2030, 85% of its net sales will come from recyclable, compostable, or reusable products, with claims backed by third-party certifications or industry-recognized guidelines.
