Global Food Packaging Leader Shares Significant Strides in Sustainable Product Development and Manufacturing Optimizations
SAYREVILLE, NJ., May 31, 2023 – Sabert Corporation, a global leader in innovative and sustainable food packaging solutions, released its 2022 Sustainability Report, providing in-depth insights about its sustainability efforts.
The report highlights advanced packaging initiatives, critical investments, and customer partnerships; all developed to support the company’s steadfast commitment to contributing to a more sustainable and dependable future.

Highlights from the 2022 report include:
· New product development results, including the global launch of 268 new products, of which 81% are considered sustainable.
· The removal of intentionally added PFAS (per-and polyfluoroalkyl substance) from 100% of its pulp and paper products by December 2023.
· The kickstarting of automation projects, such as installing a new-to-the-world in-line labeler at the New Jersey site that resulted in a 93% reduction in energy demand for labeling operations and helped to improve worker safety.
· Over 99% of the company’s secondary packaging waste was reused or recycled, including cardboard, pallets, and plastic sacs.
· Tailored solutions to help customers achieve their sustainability goals and optimize package composition through customization and product innovation.
· Enhanced efforts at Nuvida, Sabert’s fully-owned recycling facility that produces high-quality resin from post-consumer and post-industrial waste that can be used for food packaging and other applications.
· Industry engagement opportunities to support legislation and policies that promote innovation and adoption of new sustainable food packaging.
· The reaffirmation of Sabert’s global strategic commitment to have 80% of sales come from sustainable products by 2025.
The report also details Sabert’s employee growth opportunities, worker health and safety initiatives, and community support programs, focusing on employee safety training and supporting a diverse, equitable, and inclusive environment.
