Sabert Corporation Releases 2025 Sustainability Report and Announces New 2030 Goal, Signaling Shift Toward End-of-Life Outcomes
SAYREVILLE, NJ, April 30, 2026—Sabert Corporation, a global leader in innovative and sustainable food packaging solutions, released its 2025 Sustainability Report. The report reflects the company’s important progress and announces a new ambitious goal: by 2030, 85% of Sabert’s net sales will come from products that are recyclable, compostable, or reusable, with claims backed by third-party certifications or industry-recognized guidelines. The company also announced it will set company-wide emission reduction targets through the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi).
The report arrives as sustainability pressures on the foodservice packaging industry, operators, and brands intensify. With Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) legislation now active in multiple states and recycled content mandates expanding, the report details how Sabert is investing in the expertise, capabilities, and partnerships needed to help brands handle the complex challenges in food packaging today.
A Partner for a More Complex Packaging Landscape
The 2025 report emphasizes Sabert’s approach to working alongside customers as they face food packaging decisions that carry more complexity than ever before. Sabert highlights how it brings lifecycle expertise, data-driven, material-agnostic guidance, and real-time regulatory intelligence to customers, helping them identify the right path for their unique needs.
Quote: Paul McCann, CEO, Sabert Corporation
“Leading brands are already factoring consumer behavior into their packaging decisions, recognizing that consumers weigh sustainability alongside value, convenience, quality, and health. Evolving regulations are also shaping how those decisions get made. Our customers want a partner who can work closely with them through all of it, without sacrificing performance, regardless of substrate. That’s why we’ve invested in building the expertise, the infrastructure, and innovation to be our customers’ trusted sustainable food packaging solutions provider so they can make decisions with confidence.”
Key 2025 Highlights
In addition to the 2030 announcement, the report reflects Sabert’s sustained investment and measurable progress, including:
- A broad, validated, sustainable food packaging solutions portfolio: Sabert maintained 71% share of sales from sustainable products backed by lifecycle assessments, third-party certifications, and transparent data.
- Reliable access to post-consumer recycled content (PCR): In 2025, Nuvida, Sabert’s fully owned recycling facility, continued scaling its output of APR-certified post-consumer recycled (PCR) resins, including food-grade PCR with U.S. Food and Drug Administration Letter of No Objection (LNO), giving customers a dependable source of recycled content.
- Expanded innovation across substrates: In 2025, Sabert launched 481 new products across plastics, molded fiber pulp, and paper, with 78% classified as sustainable, meaning the products contain at least 25% recycled or bio-based content and are designed to be recyclable or compostable at the end of life.
- Increased global reach: The 2025 acquisition of Colpac Limited strengthens Sabert’s sustainable paperboard capabilities and provides customers with a wider array of solutions across more geographies, including the UK, Ireland, and European markets.
- Recognition for sustainable innovation: Sabert’s Pulp Ultra® molded fiber pulp formulation won the 2025 U.S. Plastic Pact Sustainable Packaging Innovation Award for Compostability and the Green Apple Awards’ National Silver in the Paper & Packaging category from the Green Organization, illustrating the company’s continued focus on developing breakthrough solutions that perform and meet the highest sustainability standards.
