Sabert Leaders Named to Plastic News’ 2026 Notable Leaders in Sustainability
Venu Eleswarapu and Luisa Parish recognized for their work in advancing sustainable materials and measurable environmental performance
Sayreville, NJ., September 17, 2026- Sabert Corporation, a leading global manufacturer of innovative and sustainable food packaging solutions, announces that Luisa Parish, Senior Sustainability Data Analyst, and Venu Eleswarapu, Senior Director, Plastic Center for Innovation, were named Plastics News’ 2026 Notable Leaders in Sustainability.
The annual program recognizes professionals across the plastics industry for work that advances sustainability within their organizations and across the sector.
Eleswarapu joined Sabert in 2018 and has helped advance the company's sustainable packaging portfolio through new materials, technologies, and manufacturing processes. His work includes commercializing Nuvida’s food-grade EnviroPrime™ 400 post-consumer recycled (PCR) resin across Sabert product lines and introducing recycled PET into the company's CPET products. He continues to develop recyclable, recycled-content, and compostable solutions across substrates.
Parish joined Sabert in 2023 and has strengthened the data and reporting systems the company uses to measure and improve its environmental performance. She developed Sabert's first Scope 1, 2, and 3 greenhouse gas inventory, establishing a common baseline for emissions reporting and for the customer disclosures that depend on it. She has also been central to Sabert's waste reduction work, where sharper measurement has helped surface opportunities across manufacturing operations.
“Sustainability progress is rarely a single breakthrough,” said Richa Desai, Chief Sustainability and Strategy Officer at Sabert Corporation. “It’s a long series of improvements, whether that’s through material innovation or better data. Venu and Luisa have each made a significant impact on Sabert’s sustainability efforts by making continuous improvement part of their daily work. We’re proud to see Plastics News recognize them for their contributions.”
Their work supports Sabert's 2030 goal of 85% of net sales coming from products that are recyclable, compostable, or reusable, with claims backed by third-party certifications or industry-recognized guidelines. Sabert's 2025 Sustainability Report is available at sabert.com/sustainability.
